Following her MA in ceramics at University of Wales, Cardiff, during which she got to try stone carving, Emma trained instonemasonry in Bath and since then she has been making sculpture in stone and bronze. She has also worked in stone conservation and written for artistic publications.
Emma lives and works in West Oxfordshire.

Author and critic
“One look at any of her sculptures is sufficient to show that Emma Maiden is one of the world’s few natural carvers, almost inevitably vowed to chipping blocks of stone into the shapes that exist, if not actually in the stone itself, at any rate in the mind of the sculptor.”
Emma is represented by these two galleries.
